Al Markhiya Gallery Opens 'Networks Part 4' Exhibition at Katara

Doha: Al Markhiya Gallery has opened the "Networks Part 4" exhibition at Katara Cultural Village, bringing together works by leading Qatari and Arab artists in a celebration of contemporary visual art and regional cultural collaboration. The exhibition is organised in partnership with Hafez Gallery from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. 

The exhibition features artworks by 13 visual artists from Qatar and across the Arab world. Representing Qatar are Hanadi Darwish, Mubarak Al-Thani and Wafika Sultan, while Hafez Gallery presents works by Abdelrahman El Shahed, Bashaer Hawsawi, Donia Al Shetairy, Sami Al Marzoogi, Ibrahim El Dessouki, Khalid Al Mutlaq, Lana Khayat, Mohammed Al Ghamdi, Raeda Ashour and Sara Al Abdali. 

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Anas Kutit, Managing Director of Al Markhiya Gallery, said the exhibition reflects the gallery's ongoing commitment to exploring the Arab creative landscape by showcasing outstanding artworks while strengthening partnerships with leading galleries across the region. He added that the initiative also aims to introduce audiences in Qatar to diverse Arab artistic experiences and promote Qatari creativity beyond the country's borders. 

Kutit explained that the "Networks" series began with exhibitions highlighting artists from Syria, followed by Egypt and the Levant, before returning in its fourth edition to focus on the Arabian Gulf. The project has become an important platform for fostering dialogue and collaboration among artists and cultural institutions throughout the Arab world. 

He noted that the latest edition brings together artists from different generations, including pioneering figures, established mid-career artists and emerging talents. The diversity of artistic styles, techniques and perspectives on display offers visitors a comprehensive view of the richness and evolution of contemporary Arab visual art. 

The exhibition highlights the cultural ties between Qatar and the wider Arab region while reinforcing Doha's position as a vibrant hub for artistic exchange. Through collaborative initiatives such as "Networks Part 4," Al Markhiya Gallery continues to provide a platform for creative dialogue, cross-cultural engagement and the promotion of contemporary Arab art.
